Curtins becomes first professional services Corporate Partner of Centre for Construction Best Practice

6th Oct 2026

The Centre for Construction Best Practice (CCBP) has welcomed engineering consultancy Curtins as its latest Corporate Partner, becoming the first professional services organisation to join the centre’s Corporate Partnership programme.

The partnership will bring Curtins’ expertise in engineering, innovation and research into CCBP’s growing network of contractors, clients, academics and industry organisations, supporting collaborative work focused on some of the built environment’s most pressing challenges.
Curtins’ decision to join reflects a shared commitment to research, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. The consultancy sees collaboration between industry, academia and the public sector as an important way of bringing different perspectives together, testing new ideas and turning research into practical improvements that the sector can take forward.

For CCBP, the partnership broadens the range of expertise represented within its Corporate Partner network and creates more opportunities to bring professional services insight into future research programmes, roundtables and industry discussions.

Marc Barlow, Innovation Coordinator at Curtins, said:

“Curtins are delighted to be joining the Centre for Construction Best Practice as a Corporate Partner. For us, the real value lies in bringing together like-minded organisations from across industry and academia to tackle challenges that no single organisation can solve alone.

“Our business has a history of innovative design solutions, finding better ways of doing things and turning ideas into practical improvements. But we know that no organisation has all the answers, which is why collaboration is so important. By learning from others and contributing our own experience through this partnership, we hope to turn research, innovation and fresh thinking into practical outcomes that benefit every client, the wider industry and the communities we serve.”

The partnership comes at a time when the built environment is facing significant pressure to improve resilience, productivity and sustainability while responding to changing regulation, new technology and skills requirements.

Curtins has identified a number of areas where it hopes to contribute to CCBP’s work, including sustainability, artificial intelligence, data and digital transformation, productivity, risk and compliance, innovation adoption, future skills and diversity and inclusion.
The consultancy also plans to contribute to collaborative research projects, industry events, roundtables and thought leadership, sharing experience from its work across the sector while learning from other organisations within the CCBP network.

A particular focus will be on identifying solutions beyond the traditional boundaries of construction. Curtins believes that collaboration with CCBP’s academic advisory board and neighbouring sectors can help identify approaches that have already been tested elsewhere and consider how they could be adapted to improve outcomes in the built environment.

Conor Neild-Crabb, Head of the Centre for Construction Best Practice, said:

“Bringing varied organisations and perspectives together is fundamental to what CCBP is trying to achieve, so we’re particularly pleased to welcome Curtins as our first professional services Corporate Partner.

“The challenges facing the sector aren’t confined to one part of the supply chain, and neither are the solutions. Curtins brings a strong focus on innovation, research and continuous improvement, alongside practical experience of delivering projects. That perspective will add real value and dimension to our research and discussions, and ultimately, will translate into better outcomes that represent the entire sector.”

The partnership aligns with Curtins’ wider innovation strategy, and will in turn, create opportunities to explore future research and collaborations that delivers practical improvements across the sector.
